How to Get Cat Pee Out of Carpet?
CritterZone Units Will Help Get the Cat Pee Out of Carpet.
STEP 1: Try to identify the age and severity of the accident. Has it soaked into the carpet padding or even the sub-flooring? Is this an old or new stain? Clean the area as best you can by thoroughly soaking up the accident with an old towel or rag until you aren’t able to absorb any more. Also, the ARM & HAMMER recipe is a great start to getting the physical partners from the fibers of the material.
Arm & Hammer Recipe
- Get some white vinegar (the old, plain kind will do), hydrogen peroxide, liquid hand soap, and baking soda.
- If the spot is dry, proceed to step 3. Otherwise, blot the area (don’t rub!) with a paper towel to absorb as much moisture as you can.
- Mix equal parts water to vinegar and pour the mixture over the affected area to saturate and let it dry.
- Liberally sprinkle the baking soda over the spot.
- Then stir up a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and dish liquid (four parts hydrogen peroxide to one part detergent) and lightly rub the mixture onto the area. Use a brush (old toothbrushes work wonders), gloved fingers, or whatever else you have on hand to get the job done.
- After it dries, vacuum the area. If the smell remains, repeat the process.
STEP 2: While the area is still damp, place your CritterZone on the urine stain for 60 minutes, preferably with a large bowl or bucket to focus the technology on the area. For accidents that have dried, mist the area with water prior to placing the CritterZone. Repeat 2-3 times as necessary, depending on age and saturation.
